Membership
Any woman over eighteen years of age who is the lineal descendant of one or more ancestors born in New England prior to the adoption of the Constitution of the United States in 1789 is eligible for active membership in this society, if she is acceptable to the Colony she wishes to join and the the National Board of Management. "Lineal descendant" shall mean direct, legal, blood descendant. The year of 1700 is accepted as the date that Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island ceased belonging to the Connecticut Colony.
New England includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Recognizing the advantage of enrolling younger members, the society has established a Cradle Roll Membership for the enrollment of boys and girls from birth to six years old and a Junior Membership for females six years old through eighteen years. Life membership is also available.
